Greek Orzo Salad Ingredients
Nine of the ten ingredients can be found inโฆ you guessed it, the produce aisle. This makes your trip to the grocery store fast and easy so you can be in and out in a flash. You may already have some of the salad toppings at home, so letโs double-check.
Hereโs what youโll need:
Orzo
This is a small, oval-shaped pasta that cooks in about 10 minutes until al dente. Itโs the only cooking youโll do for your Greek orzo pasta. We like to use the orzo cook time to cut, dice, and slice the veggies. It saves you time by getting the prep and cooking done all at once.
Produce
Youโll need five veggies for your orzo Greek salad. They are all affordable and accessible at any grocery store. If youโd like, feel free to add some of your kidโs favorite salad toppings that may not be on the recipe card. Thatโs part of the fun!
We use crisp, cooling cucumbers, juicy tomatoes that burst in your mouth, and crunchy bell peppers from NatureSweetยฎ. Their produce is always fresh and flavorful. Youโll dice your cucumbers, tomatoes, and red onion and chop the bell peppers and kalamata olives before adding them to your salad.

Feta
Our favorite salads always have something creamy in them. So we added crumbled feta cheese. You can even find feta that’s already seasoned. Thereโs a Mediterranean herb-seasoned feta that goes really well with Greek orzo salad. We highly recommend that one for extra punchy Greek flavor.
Herbs
Itโs always best to use fresh herbs when you can. Chop some dill and parsley before you sprinkle it over your salad and then give it a toss. Fresh herbs have aromatic oils that emphasize the flavors of your orzo Greek salad in a tasty way. This lemony, peppery herb duo is the perfect addition to your Greek orzo pasta salad.
How to Make Greek Orzo Pasta Salad
This Greek orzo salad recipe couldnโt be easier to make. Just boil the orzo, chop the veggies, and toss it all together.
Step 1: Boil the orzo.
Remember, even though it might not look like it, orzo is a type of pasta. Cook your orzo according to the package directions (usually about 10 minutes) until itโs al dente. Check the doneness by taste-testing a piece of pastaโyour kids will give you honest feedback if youโre unsure.
Step 2: Prep the veggies.
While the orzo cooks, halve your tomatoes, dice the cucumber and red onion, and chop the bell pepper, parsley, olives, and dill. We like to add the veggies to the serving bowl to save time on clean up later.
Step 3: Drain and rinse the cooked orzo.
Transfer the al dente orzo to a strainer and rinse it under cool running water for 10 seconds. Shake the colander to remove excess water and add it to the large serving bowl.
Step 4: Sprinkle with crumbled feta.
The feta is already crumbled. Just open the package and sprinkle in a half cup.
Step 5: Toss your Greek orzo salad.
Use salad tongs to mix up the salad before adding the lemon garlic dressing.
How to Make Lemon Garlic Dressing
This four-ingredient dressing is zesty, lemony, and herby. Add the lemon juice and zest, olive oil, garlic, and oregano to a mason jar and tighten the lid. Have your kids shake the jar until the ingredients are combined and youโve got a homemade, lemon garlic dressing. Itโs that easy!
