This fresh veggie platter is the perfect, no-cook snack for hot, summer days. Wash, cut, and arrange two types of juicy tomatoes, bell peppers, and mini cucumbers on a plate. Then serve with our homemade Golden Tomato Hummus for a creamy dip – our favorite addition to this veggie snack.

Our kids love to snack. But we don’t want them reaching for something full of sugar, salt, dyes, or chemicals.

Our Produce Mom hack is to always have colorful veggies on hand that we can cut, slice, and serve with a tasty dip. Just as crunchy and tasty as a handful of chips, but packed with nutrients. Plus, there’s no cooking, quick prep time, and it’s filling until dinner.

Fresh summer veggies cut and sliced and served with hummus

Summer veggie platter is sponsored by NatureSweet®.

We put some of our favorite in-season veggies on a plate and served them with our homemade golden tomato hummus. The veggies are crispy and fresh with the creamy hummus. The best part is that it’s ready in 10 minutes or less.

For the freshest veggie platter, we’ve linked to our guides for choosing the best tomatoes, bell peppers, and cucumbers. And be sure to check out some of our other favorite veggie snack recipes that our kids love.

Fresh NatureSweet® Ingredients

NatureSweet tomatoes, cucumbers, and peppers

All of our veggies for this veggie platter are from NatureSweet®. That means you can find all of your ingredients in the produce aisle. Just look for the tomato and pepper logo, and you’ll be through the grocery line in minutes.

Tomatoes

We used a mixture of D’Vines and Golden Cherubs® for a juicy-sweet, zesty burst of flavor. These tomatoes are sustainably grown in greenhouses and picked at peak freshness for the highest quality and taste. Plus, you can rinse your tomatoes right in the packaging because that’s what it was designed for!

Mini Sweet Peppers

Grab a bag of sweet mini peppers. We love using the minis because they are already bite-sized and don’t require any cutting. They have a crisp crunch that pairs well with the golden hummus.

Cucumbers

We love adding cucumbers to snacks because they are 95% water—perfect for those warmer months when you need to stay hydrated. The mini cucumbers are small but mighty in nutrients like potassium and vitamin K, which support fluid balance and strong bones.

How to Make Your Veggie Platter

Now that you’ve got your veggie ingredients, let’s get them on a plate for those hungry kiddos!

rinsed, whole mini peppers and tomatoes on a plate

Step 1: Wash veggies.

Rinse your tomatoes, mini sweet peppers, and cucumbers under running water. Shake off any excess water and set aside.

Cucumber cut into rounds.

Step 2: Cut the mini cucumbers.

Lay a cucumber on the cutting board and use your knife to cut it into rounds. Repeat until you’ve gone through the entire bag or you have as many rounds as you’d like.

Step 3: Assemble the veggie platter.

Place your tomatoes, mini bell peppers, and cucumber rounds in rows on a plate (or any way you prefer). You can also place your Golden Tomato Hummus in the middle and arrange the veggies around it. This is the fun part, so have your kids help you so that you can start snacking while you assemble.
